  2. Switch to an electric toothbrush. Did you know that some electric toothbrush models can deliver thousands of strokes each minute while you use this toothbrush to clean your teeth? Electric toothbrushes are a superior tool for brushing your teeth and you will be less likely to develop gingivitis. The plaque accumulations will also be removed from your teeth.
  3. Pay attention to all parts of your teeth. If you are fighting gingivitis at home, it is important for you to brush all the surfaces of your teeth. This includes the outer surfaces, the inner surfaces and on top of the back teeth.

Dr. Dhoon explains that a low water pressure setting minimizes the likelihood of bleeding and you will be more open to continuing to use this type of flosser.
  2. Use lukewarm water. This will ensure that the flossing experience is a comfortable one.
  3. Position your mouth correctly and place the tip in your mouth. The best position to take is to bend your face over the sink. In this posture, open your mouth and point the water flosser’s tip at an angle of 90 degrees. With the tip in your mouth, turn on the unit.

Treating Gingivitis: Use Mouthwash Regularly

You also stand a higher chance of winning your fight against gingivitis if you use mouthwash on a regular basis.
